Operation 1325 invites to a panel discussion on Sudan, on 16 November at 16.00-18.00.

April this year Sudan plunged into civil war between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the paramilitary group Rapid Support Forces (RSF).  

Operation 1325 has long experience working in partnership with local women- and peace organisation, such as Nuba Women for Education and Development Association (NuWEDA). 

Join the discussion were the panel share their perspective: 

  • A development perspective by Mr. Abdullahi Aress, Head of Development Cooperation for Sudan at SIDA (Sweden’s government agency for development cooperation) on how the country will achieve sustainable peace after the recent development.  
  • A democracy support actor perspective by Ms. Rumbidzai Kandawasvika Nhundu, Senior Adviser Democracy and Inclusion at International IDEA – Political Transition in Sudan.
  • A humanitarian perspective by Mr. Shashwat Saraf, Regional Emergency Director – East Africa at International Rescue Committee (IRC) on what needs need to be addressed primarily during stabilization.
